Should I ever walk out of an interview?
At a recent job construction interview, I was construction interviewed by a group of individuals who were involved in the hiring process and final decision. In the middle of my construction interview, one of the individuals got up and left the construction interview – with no warning or explanation offered. This made me feel very awkward, and left me with a bad taste in my mouth toward the construction employer. Am I overreacting? There really is no tactful way to approach this situation. Unfortunately, this happens very often. If the construction executive had to leave for a meeting or even to be excused for other reasons, it would have been more appropriate for one of the other construction interviewers to explain this situation. It is disruptive during the construction interview for all parties involved. However, if mentioning this and how you felt to the main construction interviewer helps to ease you- then I would do so.
