What is Business Development Director in construction Job Description ?

Business Development Director will lead sales team in expanding design/build business to meet growth objectives. Individual will be tasked with managing and driving the companys business development plan to reach and establish relationships with high level decision makers in the industrial manufacturing market to develop and obtain engineering and construction projects. Responsibilities: Lead, direct, train and measure business development team. Manage metrics and compensation plan. Recruit new potential proven sales representatives. Identify, qualify and prospect target clients with design/build opportunities. Develop and maintain broad industry network of high level contacts in industrial market place. Filter and prioritize opportunities that include complex technical and performance based scopes of work. Work closely with project management team to assess client needs and issues in preparation of proposals. Involvement in negotiations of EPC contracts. Organize and give presentations to key decision makers. Experience/Qualifications: Proven track record of business development leadership. 7+ years experience with the industrial market place with a focus on engineering and construction services specifically for industries such as chemical, alternative materials, energy, etc. Knowledge and good understanding of design/build project delivery and ability to clearly explain the benefits and advantages. Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with highly placed decision makers. Ability to craft and clearly express value proposition using companys past experience and successes as a basis. Must be comfortable dealing in both technical and commercial environments. Must possess strong ethics, organizational skills and must be goal oriented. Must be articulate speaker with superior presentation skills and professional demeanor. Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce.com or other) and basic computer skills preferred. Background in engineering, engineered products and/or construction for EPC services a plus. Possess an existing established network of industrial clients a plus. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred. Ability to travel with no restrictions.
